Well-known for its use as a remedy for cold/flu/fever. It helps with circulation and is beneficial to all parts of the body.

It has been very beneficial to use Yarrow as a hot tea during the first stages of sickness, especially in combination with Elder, Catnip and Mint. It has been helpful for varicose veins, gastroenteritis, dysentery and diarrhea. It has helped to stop bleeding of stomach ulcers, hemorrhoids, balance the menstrual flow, relieve dull, achy menstrual pains and for nosebleeds (especially those due to allergies). It has also helped with postpartum bleeding and abnormal flows. Increases blood flow to the skin and lowering blood pressure in the process. Other internal uses: to help clear blood clots, rheumatism, lung congestion, chronic, cystitis and urethritis, mucus discharge of the bladder, nephritis (Brights's disease), smallpox, chicken pox, glandular imbalances and diabetes. It has also been used for amenorrhea, colic, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, PMS indigestion and heartburn.

External uses include:

Athlete's Foot, wounds, muscle and joint pain and inflammation, bleeding, toothaches and gum infections (chewing the root).

Anti-inflammatory, alterative, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aromatic, astringent, carminative, cholagogue, diuretic, diaphoretic, digestive, emmenagogue, febrifuge, ordontalgic, stimulant, sudorific, tonic, vasodilator, vulnerary.
